Introduction to the Melbourne Gun Club
The Melbourne Gun Club is one of the biggest and best equipped in Australasia.
The Club is primarily active in clay target competition shooting, however, regular practice and training takes place on a Saturday morning and Wednesday afternoon. Our Field and Game Branch conducts a simulated field event each month.
Instructors are on hand on a Saturday morning for both Trap and Skeet to train beginners to prepare them for their entry into competition.

Come & Try Days
On the first Saturday of each month at 9am, the Melbourne Gun Club conducts "Come & Try" sessions for those interested in trying this great sport. To participate you must be over the age of 12 years.
You will be coached and supervised by experienced members of the Club who are keen to make sure your time with us is enjoyable and rewarding. So come along and "break" a few targets!
Clay target shooting is a true family sport where all can participate, meet new friends and have fun together. No matter whether you are male or female or young or old, you will find clay target shooting to be a wonderful sport quite different to what you may expect.
Unlike many other sports, there are very few physical limitations to participating. Clay target shooting is addictive, fun and challenging. Once you attend just one shoot you will realise what you have been missing. This is a great sport, and lots of fun.
Give clay target shooting a try - you'll be glad you did!
