Melbourne Field and Game Inc., has been established in Victoria, using the grounds and facilities of the Melbourne Gun Club, and will give F&G members a metropolitan shooting ground east of the city.

We will hold our shoots on the third Saturday of each month (except Duck Opening). Shoots will commence at 9am with a 75-target simulated field event throughout the year.

MINISTER JENNINGS ANNOUNCES VICTORIAN 2009 GAMEBIRD SEASON

The Victorian Government has today announced a limited 2009 season. The 49 day season will start on Saturday 21 March and finish on Friday 8 May 2009.

The bag limit TOTAL is Five (5) birds per day of which at least three (3) must be wood ducks.

NOTE: Black Duck, Grey Teal, Chestnut Teal, Mountain Duck may be taken as long as your total of these species is not more than two birds per day.


NOTE: Pink Ear, Blue Wing Shoveller and Hard Head ducks are banned in 2009.


This is the shortest duck season every announced by the Victorian Government.

The Victorian quail season commences Saturday 4 April and closes Tuesday 30 June 2009. The bag limit remains twenty (20) birds per day.

One of the biggest and best equipped sites in Australasia and the site of the 2006 Commonwealth Games clay target events, Melbourne Gun Club boasts excellent facilities and has been hosting sporting clay shooting events for over 10 years, including the popular annual Remington Grand Prix.

Ideally placed in Victoria’s picturesque Yarra Valley, we are close to some of the country’s most prestigious wineries, restaurants and tourist attractions including Healesville Sanctuary, making an ideal setting for a weekend away with friends or family. It is only one hour’s drive east of Melbourne.
