CLUB RESULTS: 03/02/2018

Never a quiet moment at the Club!  Weather was warm and sunny and thankfully not as hot as the previous Saturday when everyone melted!

2 Corporate Events plus our Come & Try Day resulted in 70 guests enjoying their time at the Club experiencing clay target shooting while 6 Universal Trench & 7 DTL Squads entered the planned program.

Congratulations to Nathan Cassells steaming home at the finish with a score of 99/100 in the UT Comp, even surprising himself!

As always, the Committee expresses their appreciation to all who supported and assisted. Volunteers are the backbone of any club and MGC is very fortunate to have the help of many.

CLUB RESULTS: 13/01/2018

The Club opened up the 2018 competition year with Trap, DTL & Skeet programs.

Typical Melbourne weather, warm in the morning and rain drenched competitors in the afternoon.  Only good coming from the rain meant the newly planted rose bushes in the car park area received a soaking.

6 Trap, 12 DTL and 6 Squads of Skeet resulting in over 120 competitors enjoying the facilities and program. The Club used 'My Club-My Scores' for the first time and all seemed to work well with DTL & Trap results being available for 'live'.

The Committee and Members wish to express their appreciation and best wishes to our head trapper, Rowan, who has finished at the Club after 5 years. “Rowie” has plans to become a Chef and we wish him well in the future.

The Committee thanks all who worked during the day to ensure all disciplines ran as smoothly as possible.

CLUB RESULTS: Xmas Shoot 09/12/2017

Great weather and many attended for this festive shoot!  16 DTL & 12 Skeet Squads kept the Shoot Masters on their toes and most competitors 'dabbled' in both disciplines.  Plenty of ‘pork on the fork' was available as prizes and all grades were hotly contested.

Following the competition, a feast was catered for by the MGC families. The Committee expresses their appreciation to all who contributed to the catering of this dinner, Jim Turner & Frank Santoro for organising the spit roasts and to Steve Bell & Neil Roberts for their donation of the venison.

A very big thank you must given to the Ladies who set up the meal and who 'waded' through the many dishes to cleared away and items to be washed.  Thank you Ladies, it was much appreciated!

The Club appreciates the assistance given by so many of our Members during this competition.  It takes much effort and support to hold a function the size of the Xmas Shoot and many worked tirelessly all day to make sure all who attended enjoyed the day.

The Committee wishes all its members, their families and guests, a very happy and safe festive season.

CLUB RESULTS: 02/12/2017

A slight downpour of rain did not deter the 5 DTL Squads from competing.  Unfortunately there were not a enough entries for the MGC Skeet Championship and this will be held on Saturday 13th of January 2018.

MGC trialled the 'My Club My Scores' program with Craig Henwood and Laura Wallace at the controls and all were pleased with the way it presented the ongoing results and outcomes on each grade.

The Club has installed the program and new monitors to the scoreboard and club room and look forward to improving this area for all officials and competitors.

Don’t forget...it’s the Club’s Xmas Shoot next Saturday!  Come along and enjoy the fun, festivities and friendships and a great scrumptious and high calorie feast to complete the day.

The Club appreciates the assistance given by our Members during these competitions.

CLUB RESULTS: 25/11/2017

As always, a busy time at the Club with the final Come & Try day for the year being held.

During the year’s events, over 520 guests have attended to experience the sport of clay target shooting with some joining the club and to go on to competition.

These days would not be as successful as they are without the assistance of Club Members who volunteer to supervise these days.  The Committee expresses their appreciation for this support.

Great to have many visiting competitors for the DTL program which seen 9 squads competing (possibly all getting in some practice for the Xmas Shoot on December 9th!).

Congratulations to Club Member Antony Beltrami on his first competition success!
